Reader Guidelines

Working Papers exercises a double-blind policy of evaluation with board members’ feedback playing a crucial role in the journal’s publication.

Board Members Responsibilities

Board members are responsible for producing thoughtful and constructive evaluations of submissions, as well as corresponding with the editors in a timely and professional manner. Each board member may be contacted for a review up to three times per academic year, Reviewers must make their comments in the languages in which the paper is written or the languages in which the primary text is written. Beginning with the Fall 2007 issue, we will
prohibit the use of the Track Changes functionality for making comments. Use only the evaluation form as this helps us to keep reviewer identities from being known.

Timely Responses

It is important that WP Readers respond in a timely and professional manner to all emails and communications they receive. It is crucial for the editorial process that readers respect the deadlines set by the executive board. We try our best to give readers sufficient time to review submissions. We reserve the right to discharge unreliable readers from our editorial board at any time.

Becoming a Board Member

Working Papers is always interested in reaching out to new graduate student readers to join our editorial board. We believe the best way to build an outstanding board is to extend invitations to those that come recommended to us by current board members. If you are interested in contributing to our project as a reader, you can contact us via email. Please include a description of your background and research interests in your message. If you know of someone whom you would like to nominate as a reader, please email us their contact information as well as a brief explanation of why you feel they would be a good editorial board member.
